Don’t miss the ferry ride to Caladesi Island! A nice boat ride to Caladesi Island (about 20 minutes). All natural beach with tons of shells. The Captain of the boat stopped in both directions so we could all enjoy the dolphins that were swimming around us.
This is the only way you can get to the island for shell gathering unless you have a personel boat. It is a short 20 minute boat ride and the rewards for the trip are amazing!
I went for a day trip by myself on the local ferry to this island. It was beautiful! I was warned that this would be another tourist trap. It was not at all what I expected. Beautiful and secluded. The hiking trails are amazing and the white sands beach left me breathless. I would recommend it to anyone.
